Shimano wins EFTTEX award for ‘Best New Spinning Reel’ again
At the recent 2008 European Fishing Tackle Trade Association exhibition held in Rome (Italy), Shimano received the award for ‘Best New Spinning Reel’ for the Aero Technium MgS XSA. This is the second consecutive time that Shimano is honoured with an EFTTEX award for Best New Reel.
The jury verdict read: “Breathtaking to look at with a magnesium body and rotor, this has all of the hallmarks of a legendary reel. The multi-disc Instant Drag facility enables a freespool to heavy setting in just half a turn.”
During the award ceremony EFTTA named this reel “An Instant Classic”.
Thanks to the magnesium body and rotor this 10.000 size reel weighs just 495grams!
The Slow Oscillation and Aero Wrap work together to ensure excellent line lay.
The gear ratio of 4.3:1 pulls in 102cms of line per crank of the biomechanical, ambidextrous, machined handle - fitted with a wooden torpedo style grip…making short work of winding in from the horizon, with or without a fish on the end.
The ‘SR’ One Piece Bail totally eliminates line wrapping around the Power Roller and cold forged gearing ensures this reel will never let you down.
With 8 shielded A-RB bearings and 1 roller bearing – providing a staggering 12 Ball Bearing performance – this reel is one smooth operator!
