Shimano’s evergreen FX threadline range has been given an upgrade, with the addition of a ball bearing and some funky cosmetic changes that will see them continue to dominate the entry level threadline market.
The FX2500FB has a 4.6:1 gear ratio and holds 183 metres of 3kg nylon monofilament, while its bigger brother, the FX4000FB, has the same gear ratio and takes 219 metres of 4kg nylon monofilament.
The XT7 frame is light in weight and, coupled with the aluminium spool, means the reel is particularly good for children to use when just starting out in fishing.
