Shimano
Shimano have unveiled two new competition poles that will go on sale early in the second quarter of 2005. The new introductions fill the large gap left between the Beastmaster Competition and the top-of-the-range Aspire Competition to complete Shimano's impressive portfolio of poles in every price bracket.

Speedmaster Competition
The Speedmaster Competition is manufactured using Shimano's new Biofibre technology which both stronger and lighter than other carbons. It's designed as an all-round model giving the competition angler a versatile tool that will handle anything from light elastic canal work through to commercial carping on heavy elastics. It will be available at 16m and will carry a full RRP of 1,500 quid.

Antares AX Competition
This is a serious pole designed for the serious angler who demands top performance in all three main categories - balance at long lengths, light weight and rigidity for short lining at distances of 14.5m and 16m. This pole will meet your expectations and is a tool that will give you a competitive edge.
The Antares AX also features the Shimano Tip Saving (S.T.S) System that enables large diameter elastics to fitted with minimal cutting back of the tip. Other exclusive Shimano innovations are the Shimano Alignment System and the Ultra Sound Sanding for a low friction finish to make shipping and unshipping easy. The Antares AX will have a full RRP of 2,000 pounds.

Keep an eye out for more information on these poles in the not too distant future.
