From on September there will be some recognizable models in the pictures of Shimano Cycling wear. For the autumn / winter collection Steve Houanard (FR) and Simon Geschke(DE) are the stars in all photography. For the Summer 2011 collection the Belgian Bert de Backer shines in our communication.
Van Hummel wins first stage Picardie
Kenny van Hummel won the first stage of the Tour de Picardie today. The Dutchman of Skil-Shimano outsprinted in a mass sprint in Doullens Ben Swift (Team Sky) and Danilo Napolitano (Katusha). The Skil-Shimano team performed strongly in France. A group of three riders was in the lead for a long time (maximum of 12 minutes) but, with the help of the team mates of Van Hummel, they were caught in the final stage of te race.
It is the first victory for Van Hummel – who is also the first leader in Picardie - this season. Van Hummel is also leader in the points classification. “I had to wait al little bit longer this year, but I’m glad that the first victory is here. Thanks to my team mates.”

New team clothing for Skil-Shimano shown during Team presentation
The Skil-Shimano cycling team was presented to the international media today in Rotterdam– the city where the Tour de France will start in precisely 169 days. The riders also explored the course of the prologue that will get the 97th Tour underway on 3 July. During this presentation the riders proudly showed their new team clothing.
For 2010 Skil-Shimano welcomes six new riders: Belgian Dominique Cornu, Dutchmen Job Vissers and Robin Chaigneau, Frenchmen Alexandre Geniez and Yann Huguet, and Norwegian Frederik Wilmann.‘The team and the organisation have been strengthened in terms of both quantity and quality, while the core of the team has been retained. We have a good set of riders for 2010, which the staff have every confidence in,’ said team boss Iwan Spekenbrink.
